Camp Mi-Bro-Be

This is the 6th grade camp our local city school takes the children on. Our school district is three cities combine (MIddleburg Hts, BROokpark, BErea). When i was younger you went M-F. Now they take them T-F but we are just so grateful they still get to experience this like my husband, brother, myself and even my mom as the school nurse! It’s an awesome week of outdoor activities, camp fires, science lessons, and so much more. They sleep in bunks inside cabins. This year my bonus daughter, niece and nephew went to camp. They absolutely loved it. Karalyn’s favorite activity was archery. Emma loved zip lining and Henry loved canoeing!

Only the teachers and camp staff run the entire week. Each cabin is assigned one or two high school counselors for the week! It is the best week for all the kids and guess what!? No one died without their phones!!!!

Nanny Camp

Week 4

It’s a short but full week! The oldest 2 had nature camp and the oldest still had swim team practice. Our mornings went very quickly as we prepared for the entire day before leaving the house a little before 9am. The oldest did half her swim practice and then changed like Superman in the telephone booth so we could get to camp on time. They stay at camp for 4 hours and ate lunch with their camp friends.

On day 1 they saw turtles, centipedes and 2 deers on their hike! Day 2 was all about snakes. I checked their backpacks before bringing them home just in case a snake got loose!!! Day 3 was caterpillars and bears apparently. I mean we have had bear sittings in Ohio so i guess it’s good to educate the kids on it!

On Friday the little one and i were asked to not be craft store by my nanny boy. He wanted bear crafts and the oldest wanted summer-y crafts. Michael’s was having a clearance sale on all summer crafts so we hit the jackpot!! They were so happy to see all the crafts after camp.

The oldest received all her ribbons from this weeks swim meet. She is doing so well and i am so unbelievably proud of her!!!

Nanny Camp week 1

It was a short week but it was busy! My oldest nanny girl was officially done with school on Tuesday!

Wednesday we wasted no time kicking off summer! The oldest has swim team practice every morning. It’s her first year and she is doing awesome!

After practice we headed to the library to sign up for the summer reading program. The two oldest picked out books to get them started. They also helped me pick out a book so i could do the program too! From there we walked to the playground to burn off some energy before lunch. We had a picnic at Coe Lake and then walked the trails. We practiced skipping rocks and enjoyed watching the geese swim!

After lunch the littlest nanny kid takes her nap and the two bigs have rest time. This is also the time they have their learning boxes which are filled with reading materials and activity books to keep their minds sharp over the summer!

Day 2 we started at swim team practice. After we headed to the Middleburg Hts playground. I love this playground because there are so many different climbers and activities which is perfect for 3 kids of different ages. It was a little cool in the shade so we sat on the ground in the sun for our picnic lunch!

We have also been busy working on summer art to decorate the house. My oldest made a popsicle garland and my middle guy made a watermelon. They love to find crafts on Pinterest!

I have encouraged my oldest (7) to do a daily journal entry of what we did that day so at the end of summer she has a memory book. She loved this idea and is doing an amazing job! I think one day she will be a blogger 😂
