Two, Four, SIX, EIGHT!!!

My oldest two nanny kids are turning 6 & 8! I can not believe it. This weekend we celebrate them both with a wonderful summer party. The oldest did a luau theme and her brother went with a jungle theme. The kids went on a jungle safari scavenger hunt to find animals in the “jungle.” Then the kids, and adults, played tropical charades! For dinner they had shrimp, corn on the cob, potatoes, sausage and a table full of themed treats. My nanny boss made the gorgeous cakes, as she does for every party! Nanny nana made the best Hawaiian drink! The entire backyard was transformed with themed tents and crafts for the kids to make! Inside there were two different photo areas, along with props of course! John and i are so blessed to have this amazing extended family in our lives!

Nanny Camp

Week 6

This week started off with a lot of rain. The oldest still had swim practice so the littles and i played in the car. Sounds terrible but they actually had fun sitting in the back seat playing. Once it started to monsoon they released the kids a little early. I was as wet as the oldest just from walking to get her. We ran home so she could dry off and put on warm clothes, then we headed to the library. My nanny boy finally reached the half way point of the reading challenge, so he was able to pick a prize from the treasure box. So proud of him!

All 3 of the kids picked out new books for the week. My nanny boy picked a drawing book and he couldn’t wait to get home and draw a robot. Very impressed with his art skills!

This week we worked on potty training with the youngest. She is a few months shy of her 3rd birthday and we have a goal of getting it done before summer break ends. She is doing really great and fingers crossed 🤞 we are nearing the end of diapers!

We ended the week with the swim team championships. I was beyond thrilled it was on Saturday so i could finally see my girl compete. All of her meets have been on Thursday nights when i coach. She did relays, backstroke, butterfly and freestyle. This 7 year old can swim and i am so darn proud of her!!!

Nanny Camp

Week 4

It’s a short but full week! The oldest 2 had nature camp and the oldest still had swim team practice. Our mornings went very quickly as we prepared for the entire day before leaving the house a little before 9am. The oldest did half her swim practice and then changed like Superman in the telephone booth so we could get to camp on time. They stay at camp for 4 hours and ate lunch with their camp friends.

On day 1 they saw turtles, centipedes and 2 deers on their hike! Day 2 was all about snakes. I checked their backpacks before bringing them home just in case a snake got loose!!! Day 3 was caterpillars and bears apparently. I mean we have had bear sittings in Ohio so i guess it’s good to educate the kids on it!

On Friday the little one and i were asked to not be craft store by my nanny boy. He wanted bear crafts and the oldest wanted summer-y crafts. Michael’s was having a clearance sale on all summer crafts so we hit the jackpot!! They were so happy to see all the crafts after camp.

The oldest received all her ribbons from this weeks swim meet. She is doing so well and i am so unbelievably proud of her!!!
