Lake Girl Forever

That truly does describe me. Today i was so happy to spend the day on the lake and in my favorite town. My husband and dad went fishing for the day. They set out for perch but ended up catching sheephead, catfish and walley!

Mom and i walked around downtown Vermilion. We stopped at my favorite coffee shop and ran into Allie LaForce. She is from town but she was also miss teen USA, a sports anchor and a sports journalist the NBA and college basketball. She was there with her husband Joe Smith who is a pitcher for the MLB. We talked to both of them for awhile about her pregnancy and their fight to find a cure for Huntington’s disease. They were so sweet and we enjoyed talking to them!

After our breakfast stop we walked around town. We walked through the farmers market, shopped at a local boutique and checked out the chalk walk.

This evening i spent some quality time with the most needy sister ever 🤣. Luckily she is super cute!!!

After a long, but fun day, we all decided salads, pizza and subs sounded like a good idea for dinner. I was so happy to be at the lake for a million dollar sunset. As we were walking back to the house i also noticed the vibrant first quarter moon!!! It’s very rare that i catch a gorgeous sunset and a gorgeous moonrise! It truly was a wonderful day!

Nanny Camp

Week 5

Vacation Bible School is here and we are all so excited! This is a favorite of ours and we look forward to it every summer. The local Methodist church puts on the most amazing camp for the kids. Both of the older kids participated. It’s every morning so it gives me some one on one time with the little one!

The little one and i basically spent the week at different parks. We played on the playgrounds and walked the trails. It was a fun week!

In the afternoons we read, colored and did some school work. It was a busy week but we enjoyed it!

Summer Through My Lens

Week 5

Monday was the Fourth of July. This has to be one of my favorite holidays. Fireworks, family, good food, parades, beach day and of course we celebrate my fathers birthday!

7.4.22

Tuesday morning i was woke up by the sound of thunder. It was a pretty intense summer storm and of course it arrived early in the morning. We took our time packing up and heading home. On the way we stopped at Cabelas to see if we could get a life jacket for me to use on our friends boat. We DID NOT buy this ridiculous coat guard life jacket but we thought it was funny how huge it was on me!

7.5.22

After dropping the older kids off at camp, the younger one and i walked around the trails. We just love this metal sculpture of a bee and a flower!

7.6.22

The president was in Cleveland on Wednesday. The next day my nanny boy and i saw this awesome plane coming in for a landing at the local airport. It was so big and flew right over the playground. He was amazed! We think it was a Boeing C17 Globe Master III (large military transport aircraft)

Softball Saturday!!!! Absolutely love watching my niece and her travel team play ball! They have grown so much individually and as a team this season!

Nanny Camp

Week 4

It’s a short but full week! The oldest 2 had nature camp and the oldest still had swim team practice. Our mornings went very quickly as we prepared for the entire day before leaving the house a little before 9am. The oldest did half her swim practice and then changed like Superman in the telephone booth so we could get to camp on time. They stay at camp for 4 hours and ate lunch with their camp friends.

On day 1 they saw turtles, centipedes and 2 deers on their hike! Day 2 was all about snakes. I checked their backpacks before bringing them home just in case a snake got loose!!! Day 3 was caterpillars and bears apparently. I mean we have had bear sittings in Ohio so i guess it’s good to educate the kids on it!

On Friday the little one and i were asked to not be craft store by my nanny boy. He wanted bear crafts and the oldest wanted summer-y crafts. Michael’s was having a clearance sale on all summer crafts so we hit the jackpot!! They were so happy to see all the crafts after camp.

The oldest received all her ribbons from this weeks swim meet. She is doing so well and i am so unbelievably proud of her!!!

Summer Through My Lens

Week 4

Lunch at the lake means beautiful views all around. We ate lunch in Marblehead right at this boat marina!

6.26.22

It’s not a sundae without the whip cream and cherry on top! So grateful for a local ice cream stand that sells real ice cream!!!

6.27.22

Every morning we take the oldest nanny kid to swim practice. This gives me time to explore with the littles. Outside the pool and clubhouse is the cutest little lake. Some days we see ducks. Some days we see fishermen. Today we saw a beautiful rainbow formed by the sun shining through the fountain.

6.28.22

This week john is on vacation. That means i come home from work to dinner on the grill!!!!! Steak salads and corn on the cob for dinner!

6.29.22

This weeks theme at baton was red, white and blue! I love seeing what the girls come up with each week! Here are my 2 competition teams!

During my morning walk i had to take a photo of this cute bridge. It brings me joy in two ways. At the beginning of my walk I’m so grateful to cross the bridge into the woods because it means i get out of the hot sun. When i see this bridge at the end of the walk it means i am almost back home!

7.1.22

Ended the week baking in the sun and watching my niece play in a double header. No place i would rather be. The weather was amazing (mid 80’s) and the girls were ready to play. Cally ended the second game pitching. She did a wonderful job, not only pitching, but making an out at first base. Very proud of this amazing little girl.

A Beautiful ending to 2021!

Today was gorgeous. It was 50° and sunny. Not your typical weather for the end of December in Cleveland Ohio. We of course decided we needed to spend the day outside. After our morning workout we headed to Huron. The public boat launch looked like a summer afternoon! We fished on the pier with our friend, Gene. I was super excited to use my brand new wagon that john got me for Christmas! My dad was doing important year end stuff for work, but during his break they brought Abby for a walk and joined us!!! I was able to take photos while the boys tended to the rods in the lake. I also made lots of four legged friends. We ended up with 2 perch just over 11” each. While John was bleeding out the fish, he also bled himself out 🙄. Thank goodness he married a nanny whose mother is a nurse. We cleaned with some water, put a bandaid on it and then wrapped it with a clean sock! He was good as new, at least enough to get us home. Overall excellent day spent with friends and family.
