Summer Through My Lens

Week 7

It’s National ice cream day!

7.17.22

Storms were all around us tonight! John saw these rare Mammatus clouds outside our window so i grabbed the camera to capture them!

This was just a fun and busy week! I was blessed to spend my day off with my mom and her bestie, Annalee. We met in downtown vermilion and had lunch at Big Ed’s, which is an old fashion phosphates diner. It’s so cute inside! After lunch we walked around and shopped. My dad had an appointment downtown and found us afterwards. Always a nice bonus when i get to see him too! Grabbed an iced coffee from my favorite coffee shop, brewed awakening, and then i was off to get my hair done!

On Wednesday i had my first deva cut! I was so nervous but also excited. It’s a specialized haircut for curly/wavy hair people. It’s a unique way of cutting. They basically cut your hair dry like they are trimming a bush. The stylist has a special certification to be able to do this type of cut. My stylist, Haillee, was awesome! i am so happy with the results and will continue to cut my hair this way!

I captured this beautiful photo at the lake in downtown Berea. My nanny kids and i walked around after a visit to the library. It’s such a beautiful area. We enjoyed watching a large group of people kayaking!!

This weekend my niece, Cally, had her final 9u travel softball games. It’s been one heck of a season and the girls have grown so much. Very proud of them but that number 9 is my favorite!

This week was a mix of iPhone and nikon photos but it was a fun week and all deserves to be shared!

Summer Through My Lens

Week 5

Monday was the Fourth of July. This has to be one of my favorite holidays. Fireworks, family, good food, parades, beach day and of course we celebrate my fathers birthday!

7.4.22

Tuesday morning i was woke up by the sound of thunder. It was a pretty intense summer storm and of course it arrived early in the morning. We took our time packing up and heading home. On the way we stopped at Cabelas to see if we could get a life jacket for me to use on our friends boat. We DID NOT buy this ridiculous coat guard life jacket but we thought it was funny how huge it was on me!

7.5.22

After dropping the older kids off at camp, the younger one and i walked around the trails. We just love this metal sculpture of a bee and a flower!

7.6.22

The president was in Cleveland on Wednesday. The next day my nanny boy and i saw this awesome plane coming in for a landing at the local airport. It was so big and flew right over the playground. He was amazed! We think it was a Boeing C17 Globe Master III (large military transport aircraft)

7.7.22

Softball Saturday!!!! Absolutely love watching my niece and her travel team play ball! They have grown so much individually and as a team this season!

Week 4

Lunch at the lake means beautiful views all around. We ate lunch in Marblehead right at this boat marina!

6.26.22

It’s not a sundae without the whip cream and cherry on top! So grateful for a local ice cream stand that sells real ice cream!!!

6.27.22

Every morning we take the oldest nanny kid to swim practice. This gives me time to explore with the littles. Outside the pool and clubhouse is the cutest little lake. Some days we see ducks. Some days we see fishermen. Today we saw a beautiful rainbow formed by the sun shining through the fountain.

6.28.22

This week john is on vacation. That means i come home from work to dinner on the grill!!!!! Steak salads and corn on the cob for dinner!

6.29.22

This weeks theme at baton was red, white and blue! I love seeing what the girls come up with each week! Here are my 2 competition teams!

During my morning walk i had to take a photo of this cute bridge. It brings me joy in two ways. At the beginning of my walk I’m so grateful to cross the bridge into the woods because it means i get out of the hot sun. When i see this bridge at the end of the walk it means i am almost back home!

7.1.22

Ended the week baking in the sun and watching my niece play in a double header. No place i would rather be. The weather was amazing (mid 80’s) and the girls were ready to play. Cally ended the second game pitching. She did a wonderful job, not only pitching, but making an out at first base. Very proud of this amazing little girl.

Week 3

6.19.22 Switching reels

Vacation for me has begun and it started on Lake Erie 💕 My dad, John and i went fishing. The weather was perfect, although cool at times, but we enjoyed the day. We caught a catfish and a white bass, but no walleye. We can blame the Mayflies for that. A day on the water is better than working (as the boys would say)!

6.20.22 Huron, Ohio

Tuesday was HOT. The temp was in the 90’s. I scrapbooked a little and then read my book at the pool. In the evening i coached for a few hours. They gym wasn’t hot but it was humid.

6.21.22

Wednesday was another hot 90°+ day. I finally was able to get my nails and toes done. In the afternoon i cooled down in the pool and did a few more scrapbook pages!

6.22.22

Thursday i decided i needed some retail therapy. Life’s been a little stressful and i needed a good walk around target 😂. While there i saw a beautiful shower curtain. It inspired me to redecorate the hallway bathroom because it definitely needed a fresh look. The shower curtain and rugs had seen better days. I chose turquoise, not because i love that color, but it just looked fresh, clean and gave off a calm vibe. Grabbed some new rugs, hand towel and changed the wall art! Sometimes it’s the little things that cheer us up!

6.23.22

Bonus photo….Thursday night was superhero night at baton. Here i am with some of my girls. And yes the little one is dressed up (and posed) like Mulan. She told me princesses are superheroes. She’s not wrong!

Date night. This photo was taken on my phone!

Saturday we played at the lake. It was a beautiful summer day!

Summer Through My Lens!

This is week 1 of my summer series. Each week i will share photos that i took on my Nikon camera. The goal is to take a photo a day! I stole this idea from my blogging buddy Nicole! Check out her series, Project 365, http://themommystrike.wordpress.com 😊

I thought what a great way to encourage myself to use my camera more often and to also always have my camera on me to capture more moments! We all know i love to take photos, but sadly a lot are taken on my iPhone!

A Beautiful ending to 2021!

Today was gorgeous. It was 50° and sunny. Not your typical weather for the end of December in Cleveland Ohio. We of course decided we needed to spend the day outside. After our morning workout we headed to Huron. The public boat launch looked like a summer afternoon! We fished on the pier with our friend, Gene. I was super excited to use my brand new wagon that john got me for Christmas! My dad was doing important year end stuff for work, but during his break they brought Abby for a walk and joined us!!! I was able to take photos while the boys tended to the rods in the lake. I also made lots of four legged friends. We ended up with 2 perch just over 11” each. While John was bleeding out the fish, he also bled himself out 🙄. Thank goodness he married a nanny whose mother is a nurse. We cleaned with some water, put a bandaid on it and then wrapped it with a clean sock! He was good as new, at least enough to get us home. Overall excellent day spent with friends and family.
